Cubic has tailored our Free Space Optical Communications (FSOC) capability to the specific need to reduce battlefield fratricide. When a soldier has a target of interest in his crosshairs, we can instantly query the target and get a “Friend” response from a properly equipped friend – a last step prevention of mistakes in the fog of war.

The particular value of Dismounted Combat Identification (DCID) is that it is integrated in the combat scope and requires only a button push to get an instantaneous report. This simple installation and operation and minimum weight impact makes the technology practical for our war fighters to use.
