Cubic is expanding the utility of our airborne instrumentation systems. We are adapting them to serve as air test instrumentation subsystems at military test ranges. In addition, we are equipping the F-35 Lightening II and F-22 Raptor aircraft with our airborne instrumentation for U.S. and allied nations.
Cubic has vast experience in air range communications. Because of our in-depth knowledge of radio frequencies, and antenna and data link design, our system architectures consistently provide reliable coverage and tracking of participants for air –to-air, air-to-ground, and ground-to-ground communications. Our systems maintain robust connectivity in a rangeless training environment. At national air bases worldwide, our data links have proven their ability to accurately track high activity aircraft performing high dynamic maneuvers.
Cubic has a long history in designing; developing, testing, and fielding encrypted data links for U.S. and allied forces. We have security accreditation for both trusted guard and Type I encryption. We optimize our data guard configurations so that our data links are capable of handling multiple independent levels of data classifications simultaneously. This includes full Type I encryption capability that supports encryption and decryption of both transmitted and recorded data.
We design and test our airborne and ground-based instrumentation to reliably perform in harsh environmental conditions. In particular, our externally mounted airborne instrumentation pods withstand the most severe conditions. Production and Sustainment
Cubic maintains a complete and active manufacturing, test, and production facility for airborne instrumentation. We also have highly experienced personnel who provide a full spectrum of operations and maintenance services for air ranges.
Display and Debriefing Systems
Cubic designs and develops all the software for the Individual Combat Aircrew Display System (ICADS). It is the industry standard display and debrief system. We keep this system current and relevant to aircrew training by providing upgrades that are responsive to the needs of its international User Group.
The ability to quickly and easily manipulate the ICADS’ display is critically important for aircrew learning during training debriefs. ICADS’ is designed for usability, human ergonomics, and technical functionality. Its consistent design interfaces, coloration of displays, size, and placement of data onto display monitors all contribute to a feature-rich software package that is adaptable to changing needs of aircrews worldwide.
