P5 Combat Training System/Tactical Combat Training System (P5 CTS/TCTS)
Interservice Air Combat Training
Description
Cubic is leading the design, development, production, and sustainment for the largest air combat training system program ever awarded. It sets the course for the advancement of future air combat training technology. The U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Air National Guard, and Air Force, and U.S. allies seeking the latest technology, will rely on our system for live training well into the 21st Century.
Benefits
Rangeless training - allows training in any available airspace because it uses GPS technology in a high-dynamic environment.
Deployable training at sea - enables air wings to train while deployed aboard aircraft carriers at sea. Our system has been fully qualified for use on aircraft during carrier takeoffs and landings.
Enhanced security features - security certification and accreditation for airborne and ground subsystems allows connection to classified aircraft data sources and use of classified and validated simulations of advanced weapons.
Dual band data link - can be easily modified to transmit at either “L” band or “S” band so that the system can be used in the U.S. or overseas.
Interoperability - our ground system has various interfaces with other data sources such as Link 16, FAA radars and ground threat systems to provide all the data of the common operating environment during air crew debriefs.
Embedded instrumentation - provides provides the first and only Air Combat Training System for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Lightening II. For this aircraft we have developed a special internally mounted version of the P5CTS/TCTS designed for the unique F-35 environment.
Ground subsystem - our ground subsystems include various configurations of equipment and security features to match the needs of our customers. All our ground subsystems include the Individual Combat Aircrew Display System (ICADS™) software. is a feature-rich and upgradeable display system that provides a highly accurate 3D perspective of a training exercise. ICADS™ is the most widely used Aircrew Debrief system in the world, already in use throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia.
Hardware - is comprised of internal and external pods, transportable ground subsystems, and deployable debriefing subsystem, and real time monitoring subsystems.
Software - is comprised of various components embedded in the airborne instrumentation or incorporated in our ground subsystems. Our software includes industry standard interfaces such as the Test and Training Enabling Architecture (TENA) interface.
Cubic is continuously inserting new technology into the airborne and ground-based subsystems to ensure aircrews are equipped with the most precise, accurate, and reliable systems available. Ultimately a total of 30 bases in the U.S., Europe, and Pacific will receive P5. This will be supplemented by bases for our international sales and all F-35 locations. P5 is the predominate air combat training system worldwide.
