    <link>http://www.cubic.com/News/Press-Releases/ID/394/Cubic-Delivers-Mobile-Combat-Training-Center-to-Jordan</link>
    <description>
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – May 3, 2012 - Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) has completed delivery of a mobile Combat Training Center to the country of Jordan under a $17 million contract.
The Foreign Military Sales contract with the Jordanian Armed Forces was made through the U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI).
The agreement includes Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System Individual Weapons System (MILES IWS) units and units for instrumenting vehicles. In addition, it features an Exercise Control center and an After Action Review center each housed on trailers, allowing the system to be used on training ranges throughout the country.
Cubic’s state-of-the-art MILES IWS system uses eye-safe lasers on actual weapons to realistically simulate force-on-force combat, and records what happens for later review. “This is a new capability for the Jordanian Armed Forces,” said Mike Collier, a senior program manager with Cubic Defense Applications (CDA), which makes the systems. “They have never trained force-on-force with MILES before.”
After delivering the system, Cubic personnel conducted three weeks of training about how to use it, followed by a week-long training exercise. The contract also specifies on site support and a two year warranty.
Cubic executives met with Jordanian officials to mark the delivery of the system. “We are honored that the Jordanian Armed Forces has once again chosen a Cubic training product to enhance the security of the country,” said Brad Feldmann, president of Cubic Defense Applications. “The CTC will be the backbone of its live training program for years to come, and provide interoperability with the U.S. and other allied nations.”

    <link>http://www.cubic.com/News/Press-Releases/ID/360/Cubic-to-Showcase-Latest-Training-Technologies-During-IITSEC-Conference-in-Orlando</link>
    <description>ORLANDO, Florida – November 28, 2011 – Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) will present its latest innovations in live, virtual and constructive training technologies this week during the Interservice/Industry&amp;#160; Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC). Highlights will include a portable “immersive dome” 4-D training simulator, and a combat ID system employing a laser-equipped rifle scope and electronic tags that provides unprecedented capabilities on the training range or the battlefield.

“Cubic’s continual quest for innovation and cutting-edge technology is evident in the new deployable training simulator,” said Brad Feldmann, President of Cubic Defense Applications, Cubic’s defense systems business. “And our solution for combat ID and enhanced situational awareness holds the promise of not only better training but also of dramatically reducing fratricide.”

I/ITSEC, from Nov. 28 to Dec. 1 at the Orlando Convention Center, is the world’s largest modeling, simulation and training conference. More than 500 companies from all over the world will exhibit this year.

“Innovation: The Key to Readiness” is the theme of Cubic’s exhibit. It will focus on Cubic’s leadership in innovation and systems integration in all domains, including live, virtual and constructive (LVC) integration; joint, combined and multinational training; immersive virtual training; and instrumented urban operations.

At the conference, Cubic will give live demonstrations of its new Immersive Training Environment (ITE), integrated with its Mission Rehearsal Planning System (MRPS). The simulator provides a 360-degree virtual training experience within a portable dome, applying advanced virtual, constructive and gaming technologies, replicating any terrain and preparing squads for most contingencies.&amp;#160; MRPS features realistic simulation of real-world threats, tactics and techniques, and improves performance through mission rehearsal, course of action analysis, contingency planning and decision making.

The groundbreaking Dismounted Combat ID with Target Location &amp;amp; Navigation (DCID-TALON) system will be demonstrated as part of Cubic’s “Imaginuity” program to foster constant innovation. DCID-TALON can instantly identify friendly forces and provide the distance and grid coordinates of a target with the push of a button. Cubic’s Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement Systems (MILES) can be incorporated into DCID-TALON for use on the training range as well as the battlefield.

Cubic’s exhibit will also feature:

    <description>SCDL is a key element of Air Force’s Joint STARS airborne radar and tracking system
SAN DIEGO, California – September 26, 2011 – Cubic Defense Applications (CDA), the defense systems segment of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB), has received an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract from the U.S. Army for equipment and technical support for its Surveillance and Control Data Link (SCDL).
&amp;#160;The five-year follow-on contract, worth up to $49 million, is for spares, repairs, field services and engineering support for SCDL, a key component of the U.S. Army’s Common Ground Station. SCDL provides connectivity to the U.S. Air Force’s Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System, known as Joint STARS.
Joint STARS, built by Northrop Grumman, is a sophisticated airborne battle management, command and control, intelligence and surveillance system that is carried on E-8C aircraft, modified Boeing 707 passenger airliners. Joint STARS radar and imaging systems can simultaneously track and monitor many ground vehicles, as well as aircraft and ships.Joint STARS aircraft use SCDL to relay data and messages to ground commanders, providing exceptional situational awareness and real-time command and control.
Cubic’s SCDL consists of airborne and ground stations that provide a secure all-weather link for Joint STARS’ encrypted ground-to-air and air-to-ground communications. “The characteristic of the SCDL we are most proud of is that it is proven to be jam-resistant,” said Trey Cochran, Cubic’s Program Director for the system.
Cubic delivered the first Joint STARS data link in 1987, and the system has been used extensively since then during conflicts in the Persian Gulf War, Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan. Cubic is currently working with the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force to increase the functionality and make other improvements to it.

    <title>Cubic Technology Showcased at New Training Center</title>
    <link>http://www.cubic.com/News/Press-Releases/ID/323/Cubic-Technology-Showcased-at-New-Training-Center</link>
    <description>‘Tactical village’ at College of DuPage first to use MILES gear for law enforcement training
SAN DIEGO, California – September 6, 2011 - Technology from Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) was in the media spotlight recently at a demonstration of a new Homeland Security Training Center near Chicago.
The $26 million regional training center, built by College of DuPage, was designed to provide training to police officers and other first responders. It includes an immersive 4,500-square-foot “tactical village,” a two-story replica of a downtown street.&amp;#160; To demonstrate the capabilities of its new center, the college re-created the North Hollywood Shootout, a famous 1997 bank robbery in Southern California considered pivotal in the evolution of police tactics, equipment and training.
Cubic equipped the training facility with its Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System – Individual Weapons System (MILES - IWS) and its Miles After Action Review System (MAARS).
MILES has been a staple of military training for many years, but this is the first facility for police and first-responder training using MILES gear.
Cubic also installed its technology known as ASAULT (Advanced System Architecture for Urban Live Training), including cameras, a tracking system, microphones, smoke generators and other electronic equipment and software for creating realistic training scenarios, collecting sensor data and controlling the system. Cubic defense facilities in San Diego and Orlando developed the instrumentation.
&amp;#160;Members of the media were invited to take part in a simulated shootout using Cubic gear. All threenetwork-affiliated television stations in the region, the CBS affiliate in Los Angeles, and&amp;#160; several&amp;#160; newspapers and web sites gave extensive coverage to the August 17 re-creation. Cubic’s technology was featured prominently in the coverage.
Police officers who participated in the demonstration were impressed with the facility and the Cubic instrumentation. “Yesterday was my first time using it, and I’ve never experienced anything like it before,” said Paul Dilley, a detective with the North Aurora Police Department, about MILES. “It is far superior&amp;#160; to the simulated munitions used in other training I’ve done.”

    <link>http://www.cubic.com/News/Press-Releases/ID/322/Cubic-Receives-Production-Order-for-Tactical-Vehicle-Training-System</link>
    <description>SAN DIEGO, California – August 29, 2011 – Cubic Defense Applications, the defense systems business of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB), announced today that it has received the first production order for its Tactical Vehicle System (TVS), used in combat training scenarios. The $13 million task order was issued by the U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) under an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract awarded last year.
TVS uses laser sensors mounted at strategic spots on vehicles, a control module, and other electronics to provide instant feedback to vehicle crews when laser simulated weapons score “hits” during training.
The task order, signed at the end of July, represents the start of full production. It covers kits that Cubic will begin delivering in 2012 for use at multiple U.S. Army installations around the world. Including the task order, Cubic has been awarded almost $18 million thus far under the ID/IQ contract, which has a potential value of more than $100 million over four option years.
&amp;#160;
“This important contract positions Cubic to expand delivery of the TVS system to the U. S. Army and many international customers over the next several years,” said Bradley H. Feldmann, President of Cubic Defense Applications.&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;

    <title>Cubic Delivers COMBATREDI Virtual Training System to Florida National Guard</title>
    <link>http://www.cubic.com/News/Press-Releases/ID/306/Cubic-Delivers-COMBATREDI-Virtual-Training-System-to-Florida-National-Guard</link>
    <description>ORLANDO, Florida – July 5, 2011 - Cubic Simulations Systems, the virtual training systems business of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB), has delivered a cutting-edge virtual training solution to the Florida National Guard (FLNG) that will provide the most advanced virtual training capability available for mounted and dismounted infantry operations
&amp;#160;Cubic’s FLNG solution includes a manworn “virtual reality” training system and vehicle training platform – both integrated with the widely used VBS2 game engine.
&amp;#160;COMBATREDI™, the virtual reality component, provides soldiers with unprecedented fidelity, portability, and flexibility for training dismounted soldiers in warrior tasks and battle drills in a synthetic environment. COMBATREDI&amp;#160;allows soldiers to train anywhere, anytime without the need for dedicated facilities.
&amp;#160;Taking a revolutionary approach to virtual training, COMBATREDI combines the fidelity of a high resolution helmet-mounted display (REDISITE™) with a powerful manworn tactical computer (REDITAC™) that is optimized to run the latest commercial and military game engines. Add a compact motion sensor suite (REDITRACK™) and simulated weapons (REDIFIRE™) based on Cubic’s world-class EST 2000 system, and the result is a one-of-a-kind, tetherless soldier training ensemble that is durable, easy to use and maintain, and ready for training today.
&amp;#160;“COMBATREDI is the latest in a comprehensive line of immersive training products specifically designed for the individual soldier,” said Mark Saturno, Director of Business Development for Cubic Simulation Systems in Orlando. “Since fielding the Army’s first Engagement Skills Trainer in 1999, Cubic has never stopped pushing the envelope to provide solutions that meet training objectives, utilize durable hardware components, and integrate the latest in visual solutions and gaming technology. We are extremely excited about COMBATREDI and its benefits for our soldiers.”
&amp;#160;The Warrior Skills Trainer (WST) component provides the platform for vehicle training or mounted operations. WST incorporates Cubic’s high-fidelity Engagement Skill Trainer weapons, which are the only simulated weapons validated by the U.S. Army for ballistic accuracy, performance and overall operation. The system allows soldiers to engage targets while in a simulated moving vehicle, or to dismount and engage on foot. The integration of WST with COMBATREDI allows fire teams and squads to perform increasingly complex missions in a virtual environment, a capability that, until now, did not exist for U.S. Army soldiers.&amp;#160;
&amp;#160;VBS2, the U.S. Army’s game engine of record, is the visual software that drives the training scenarios. VBS2 allows for geospecific terrain and scenario development which results in highly effective pre-deployment training for National Guard soldiers. Cubic’s multi-device integration is a significant milestone that will serve as a model for the future fielding of flexible and cost-effective virtual training solutions. Cubic’s FLNG solution marks the first fielding of multiple, integrated training devices operating VBS2.&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;&amp;#160;
