Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How long does the MILES 2000 retain laser alignment compared to that of the Basic MILES system?
A: The Universal Laser Transmitters (ULTs) have a 10-hour alignment retention requirement. There is no requirement for the small arms transmitters; however, it has been proven that a properly aligned transmitter will retain alignment longer than 72 hours.
Q: How effective are MILES 2000 lasers at range?
A: The transmitters for both the individual and vehicle weapons systems are designed to replicate the actual range of the simulated weapon. This was tested and proven during functional testing prior to equipment fielding.
