FOR M-249 SAT, P/N: 148493-1

MATERIAL AND TOOLS REQUIRED
|
-
Phillips Screwdriver
-
Inch-Pound Torque-Driver with Phillips head
-
Acetone
-
Cotton Swabs
-
Loc-Lite Thread-Locking Compound [P/N M2247322YN, Grade
A (RED) or equivalent].

2.
Remove screws and washers from heat sheild with Phillips
screwdriver.

3.
Clean area where Loc-Tite bonded to head shield and sat
housing with acetone. Ensure parts are dry before proceeding
to next step.

4.
Apply Loc-Tite to clean, dry screws and reassemble shield
to sat. Torque screws to 18-20 in. lbs. [Note: Old screws
and washers may be used if threads and heads show no sign
of stripping. Before reusing old screws and washers, they
must be thoroughly cleaned and dried to ensure no Loc-Tite
remains (acetone or equivalent in an ultrasonic cleaner
or a wire brush may be used)].
