Cubic-developed Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System
(MILES 2000) provides the most realistic force-on-force training
available. The laser-based system allows troops to fire infrared
“bullets” from the same weapons and vehicles that
they would use in actual combat.
These simulated direct-fire events cause realistic audio/visual
effects and casualties, identified as a “hit,” “miss”
or “kill.” The events are then recorded, replayed
and analyzed in detail during After Action Reviews (AARs),
where participants can review their performance after the
training exercises.
Realism is further enhanced with virtually transparent equipment
that is small and lightweight. MILES 2000 is also the first
system of its kind to accurately replicate weapon ranges in
blank fire while holding alignment.
MILES 2000 is currently being fielded by the U.S. Army, Marine
Corps and Air Force, as well as the British Army, Royal Netherlands
Marine Corps and Kuwait Land Forces. Cubic is also supplying
MILES 2000 for the Republic of Croatia and the Brazilian Army.
