Cubic awarded contracts for new Combat Training Center instrumentation
in Romania and Slovakia

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – November 30, 2006 -- Cubic Defense Applications, the defense segment of Cubic Corporation (Amex: CUB), has received two U.S. Army contracts with a combined total of $13.4 million to provide mobile Combat Training Center (CTC) instrumentation to the Romanian and Slovakian armed forces.

Under the new, multi-year contracts with the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI), Cubic will supply its CTC instrumentation system with MILES IWS and MILES 2000 Tactical Engagement Simulation Systems to Romania and Slovakia respectively.

MILES 2000 and MILES IWS will be an integral part of fully instrumented mobile CTCs that allow commanders and trainers to track all weapons engagements, communications, movements of soldiers and weapons systems in force-on-force exercises. Cubic’s instrumentation system will monitor and assist in the control of participants in the live training domain, with the capability to be linked to virtual and constructive training domains.

Cubic Defense Applications (CDA) is one of Cubic Corporation’s two major segments. CDA is a world leader in realistic combat training systems, mission support services and defense electronics. The corporation's other major segment, Cubic Transportation Systems, designs and manufactures automatic fare collection systems for public mass transit authorities.
