Cubic joins Warrior Training Alliance
in bid for major U.S. Army training procurement
SAN DIEGO,
Calif. – February 16, 2006 – The defense
segment of Cubic Corporation (AMEX: CUB) announced today
it has joined the Warrior Training Alliance (WTA) to pursue
the U.S. Army’s Warfighter Field Operations Customer
Support (FOCUS) program. Warfighter FOCUS is a new procurement
created to supply life-cycle contractor support services
for U.S. Army training and training devices worldwide.
As a member of the WTA, an alliance of companies dedicated
to providing integrated training support to the U.S. Army
warfighter, Cubic brings its vast experience in constructive
computer-based simulation training. The Cubic Defense Applications
Group has supported some 15,000 simulation-based training
exercises, and currently provides constructive simulation
training at U.S. Army installations worldwide. Key Army contracts
include the National Simulation Center at Fort Leavenworth,
Kansas, and the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) at
Fort Polk, Louisiana. As the mission support contractor at
the JRTC, Cubic plans, coordinates and executes 10 or more
brigade-level training rotations each year that are designed
to replicate the environment that U.S. forces encounter during
an operational deployment. Cubic integrates both live and
constructive simulations to support this training. The company
also provides battle command training and education services
for military customers around the globe.
“Cubic is excited about this opportunity to be a member
company of the Warrior Training Alliance and to provide the
Army with innovative, cost-effective training support solutions
for Warfighter FOCUS,” said Rich Bristow, vice president
and general manager for Cubic’s Operations Support
Division, based in Hampton, Virginia, the division lead for
Cubic in the WTA effort. “Cubic’s extensive training
experience provides subject matter expertise to help the
WTA address a wide range of Army training support requirements.”
