New Cubic System Helps Eliminate Deaths from "Friendly Fire"
SAN DIEGO, Calif.,
December 22, 2008—In the Persian Gulf War (Desert Storm) 35 Americans
were killed and 72 wounded by "Friendly Fire." There were
a number of Americans killed by friendly fire over
Kuwait in 2004 when a British plane was shot
out of the air because no one was able to identify
if it as friend or foe.
Cubic after
five years development has designed a system which identifies,
in two tenths of a second, whether a soldier, aircraft
or tank is Friendly or Foe.
The system,
presently, is under evaluation by the military.
