Training Ranges
Cubic
provides technical support for live-fire and electronic
warfare
training ranges, including the Draughon Range formerly called
(Ripsaw Range) at Misawa Air Base, Japan.
Here, our technicians maintain and operate computerized and
electronic scoring systems; electronic warfare equipment;
target areas for dropping of ordnance; and heavy equipment
used for locating targets, cleaning target areas and transporting
equipment.

Our personnel
provide scoring operations for strafe pits (Photo A)
and conventional ordnance deliveries including Acoustiscore
and M2 Aiming Circles as well as range safety. (Photo
B).
All systems
are tested for operational readiness, and Electronic Warfare
(EW) profiles are developed based on the training and mission
requirements to maximize training. Our personnel provide feedback
to the user aircrews, perform the Range Control functions,
and perform operator training.
Electronic
Warfare Threat Emitters (Photo C) are positioned, set-up,
maintained, and operated in accordance with the requested
profile. In addition, our technicians operate heavy equipment
for locating targets, maintaining and cleaning target areas
(Photo D), and transporting equipment.
Facility
maintenance includes vegetation control, refuse disposal,
building maintenance, snow removal, road maintenance, and
custodial and housekeeping services.
Other
activities include hazardous material handling and storage,
target repair, supply support, and the calibration and repair
of test, maintenance, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).
