Senior Vice President & President of Cubic Global Defense
Mike Knowles is president of Cubic Global Defense (CGD) and senior vice president of Cubic Corporation. He manages the overall CGD business, which spans across more than 35 nations.
Formerly, Knowles was vice president and general manager of the Air Ranges business unit for Cubic Global Defense. He was appointed to the position in July 2014. In this role, Knowles was responsible for the strategic direction and business management of the company’s air ranges, air training, Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (ACMI) and Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) business initiatives.
Before joining Cubic, Knowles served as the as senior director of Air Transport and Mission Solutions at Rockwell Collins and held a series of program management and engineering flight test roles at Photon Research Associates and Northrop Grumman. His earlier career was with the United States Navy where he served as a naval flight officer, aerospace engineering duty officer and retired as a commander.
Knowles received a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. He later gained a Master of Business Administration from George Mason University.
