Mark Stephens

Business Development Director, CMS

Our nation’s Special Operations Forces (SOF) are described as the “Tip of the Spear” for good reason.

These brave and highly skilled warriors lead high-stakes missions in advance of other military forces. They are there when we need them most. Now, more than ever, it’s important that we are there for them. It was my honor to serve over 20 years in Army Special Operations. I served in the Army’s Counter Terrorism Unit for most of my career in the Army. That’s why Cubic’s support for the Task Force Dagger Foundation (TFDF) is so important to me.

The TFDF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides assistance to wounded, ill, or injured US Special Operations

Command (USSOCOM) members and their families. For the last seven years, Cubic has hosted SOF community members, colleagues and industry leaders at our Annual Cocktail Reception and Silent Auction event during SOFIC.

Thanks to the generosity of the event participants, the auction has generated significant funds for the Task Force Dagger Foundation. Like many in-person events, the Silent Auction was cancelled this year due to COVID-19. However, our support for the TFDF remains strong and I’m proud to announce that this year, Cubic we’ll be hosting an online version of the event, the SOF Online Auction and Raffle, to be held June 15-19.

I have a first-hand appreciation of the burden our Special Operations Forces community has absorbed in recent conflicts. They are first in, last out, and adopt a training and deployment tempo that has a ripple effect on their family and their health. The needs of these families and service members are top priority for TFDF and the foundation of its core programs.

The SOF Online Auction and Raffle is a terrific opportunity to support these programs which are designed to heal, rebuild and strengthen the service member and their family by providing mission, purpose and focus.

I’m optimistic that past supporters will continue to support the TFDF with this year’s online event. I’m also excited at the opportunity to invite the broader community to join us in supporting the TFDF. Your participation will support these important programs: TFDF Immediate Needs Program provides direct support to the USSCOM  Warrior Care Program (WCP). The WCP is a part of the United States Special Operations Command and is responsible for providing Special Operations Forces (SOF) Wounded, Ill, or Injured Service Members and their families advocacy after life changing events in order to navigate through recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration as quickly as possible, strengthening SOF readiness.

Whether the service member is returning to operational status, moving into a different field or transitioning into veteran status, the WCP is the government liaison to benevolent organizations, legally bridging the support they receive for the SOF members and their Families.

TFDF assists where individual  insurance, the VA and the government is not able to provide coverage. TFDF SOF Health Initiatives Program increases access to and awareness of Personalized Lifestyle and Integrative Medicine that addresses root cause dysfunction in Special Operation Forces (SOF) community members. Through this program, TFDF aids active duty service members (SM), veterans and their families in gaining access to world class medical care.

The SOF Health Initiatives Program was designed to work by, with and through all available military medical treatment facilities (MTF) and all available health insurance companies such as Tricare and Medicaid. TFDF assists where individual insurance, the VA and the government will not provide coverage. Treatments for Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS), and Heavy metal and toxin exposures are supported through this program.

TFDF Rehabilitative Adaptive Event Program offers opportunities to reintegrate separated and retired service members into civilian life by giving them mission, purpose, and focus. This program features several different event formats, including family-oriented events, giving the participants an emotionally, physically and mentally safe atmosphere to reunite and begin to heal from the stress of repetitive deployments.

TFDF collaborates with external agencies such as the Department of POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) and East Carolina University, to engage veterans in mission-based events. The rehabilitative events provide a purpose for the service members as they are tasked with identifying and recovering the remains of unaccounted U.S personnel from previous wars.

For ten years, TFDF has serviced the Special Operations Forces Community and continues to support SOF families by providing programs and services that foster healing and resources to improve their quality of life.

Please join us in supporting the SOF Online Auction and Raffle, scheduled to go live on June 15. Together we’ll raise badly needed funds to support SOF families.
