DTECH’s edge compute and networking technologies enable complex, data-rich processing at the edge—even in limited connectivity (DDIL) environments—empowering AI-accelerated decision-making and next-generation command and control across all echelons.
Protect Data with Quantum Resistant Encryption
DTECH Fusion Trust combines the power and resilience of DTECH platforms with advanced capabilities from ecosystem partners to ensure the Army has a secure, zero-trust, data-driven network that works in contested environments and is quantum-ready for the future fight. The collaboration brings quantum-resistant encryption to edge platforms—from body-worn devices to mobile data centers—providing robust protection operational resilience in Denied, Disrupted, Intermittent, and Limited (DDIL) conditions.
Wireless Soldier Platform
Cubic’s Live Training System (LTS) - Individual minimizes the soldier weight, heat loading and encumbrance through wireless modules mounted about the person and provides weapon effect and threat detection to personnel (Soldier, role player). The wireless system can be universally configured to soldiers’ tactical equipment. Weapon and threat effects may be laser (e.g., direct fire), short range radio (e.g., exploders), or player unit (e.g., virtual, geometric pairing).
Wireless Vehicle Platform
Cubic’s Live Training System – Vehicle is a wireless solution for simulation training in force-on-force scenarios, providing better training fidelity, wireless communications and intuitive interfaces. Cubic’s system is configured with new features that significantly improve ease of use for soldiers, including touch-screen displays with highly intuitive graphics. This makes system setup, installation, and operation significantly easier than other vehicle simulation systems in use today and provides superior performance and accuracy in weapon simulations and casualty assessments for vehicles and fixed structures.
LTS Mortar Platform
Cubic’s Live Training System (LTS) - Mortar platform is a surrogate mortar cannon with smart cannon module which interfaces to tactical baseplates, mounts and surrogate ammunition for use in the live training environment. All other equipment associated with the mortar including sights, aiming stakes and associated equipment is the actual tactical equipment. Operation of the Mortar Tactical Engagement Simulation System (TESS) emulates live fire procedures including establishment of a Mortar Firing Point and conduct of indirect fires. As a fully integrated training system, effects generated by the mortar TESS are propagated across CTC-IS networks and systems delivering real-time casualty effect to other TESS equipped Soldiers and vehicles, as well as data to support Exercise Control and After-Action Review functions. Use of the system reinforces positive tactical and procedural skills for mortar sections and brings to bear the effects of indirect fires in Force-on-Force live training previously only emulated through administrative simulation injects.
LTS - Unmanned Aerial System
Cubic’s Live Training System (LTS) - Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) replicates real-world UAS engagements with variants for Electronic Warfare (EW), Kinetic Defeat, Ordinance Delivery and Direct Fire.
- The EW variant uses a Player Unit Radio (PUR) or Training Edge Device (TED) on the sUAS, connecting it to the network. The sUAS can perform Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) tasks while susceptible to simulated EW effects.
- The Target Kit – Kinetic Defeat adds detectors that interact with TESS using MILES Communication Code (MCC)/PMT-90 and Urban Combat Advanced Training Technology (UCATT) Laser Engagement Interface Standard (ULEIS) standards. This makes the payload engageable by other TESS-equipped players. Engagement success can be notified via a LED on a First Person View (FPV) camera or from an Exercise Control (EXCON) operator. Since the payload isn't integrated into the sUAS, it doesn't interfere with flight controls or rely on the UAS battery.
- The Ordinance Delivery variant pairs with the EW kit, enabling UASs to drop simulated munitions. Using Cubic’s SCOPIC EXCON software or similar exercise control architecture, a detonation effect is simulated at the drop point, affecting TESS-equipped soldiers and vehicles. A Nerf football falls from the UAS for visual realism. This information is sent to the Area Weapons Effect Simulator (AWES) detailing the location, time, and type of munition. AWES then assesses the impact on TESS-equipped entities similarly to real mortar fire.
- The Direct Fire Kit mounts a laser transmitter to the sUAS which actively engages other TESS-equipped players/vehicles in a fixed or articulated configuration.
Transforming the Instrumented Battlefield
Cubic’s Live Training System (LTS) - Instrumentation Systems (LTS-IS) is a transportable system able to enhance collective live training at home stations up to the Battalion level. The system provides:
- Automated tools for unit leaders and designated observer-controller/trainers (OCT) to give performance feedback to training units.
- An integrated system of computing devices, digital map displays, GPS based tracking radios, laser based simulated engagement gear and wireless communication relays that produce, record, and present voice, video, and data.
- Training performance feedback through After-Action Reviews and Take-Home Packages.
- Supports tactical voice communications and radio transmissions.
- Supports the ability to federate with other Live, Virtual, and Constructive simulation systems.
