Cubic Transportation Systems to address how account-based ticketing is a building block for Mobility as a Service

SAN DIEGO – Nov. 15, 2018Cubic Corporation (NYSE:CUB) today announced that its Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS) business division will participate at the North of England Transport Summit, taking place on November 15 in Manchester, United Kingdom. Tim Roberts, CTS business development lead, will discuss the benefits of account-based ticketing for both transport operators and travelers and its strategic role in Mobility as a Service (MaaS). Organized by Transport Times with support from Transport for the North and Transport for Greater Manchester, the event brings together key politicians and practitioners to discuss the future transport strategy for the north of England.

MaaS is a growing strategy for managing transportation and integrating public and private transportation modes into a single mobility service, accessible on demand. Cubic’s account-based ticketing technology known as One Account, has an established presence in cities such as Chicago and will be deployed in major cities including New York and Boston in the near future.

“Cubic’s One Account technology is central to the idea of smart travel,” said Tim Roberts, Key Accounts Manager, CTS. “One Account delivers an integrated, well understood and easily accessible ticketing system, covering multiple regions and modes of travel based on a single account.

 “For travelers, One Account means never having to queue at a ticket office, ticket vending machine, or buy a physical ticket. It allows customers to conveniently view their entire travel history and set up their preferred payment methods online,” added Roberts.
